I used to be a huge Noah fan but after exploring a bit more into the custom side of the hobby, my admiration has faded substantially. Especially after the incident with his Maleficent custom on DS.com (people getting one that looked NOTHING like the one pictured) He is much more talented than I am or will ever be but I think his work is rediculously overpriced.

But, I guess to each his own. I know people who have similar feelings about Thomas Kincade, and I find his paintings to be extremely appealing.

That's an excellent question.  I don't know the answer but I do know that there are many great custom artists who don't work for Disney and they price their work much more reasonably.
I would guess that Disney wants Noah's work to be so exclusive that only the most extreme (and wealthy) collectors can afford his pieces. Personally, I don't see any reason whatsoever that makes a "Noah" worth spending $650.

Have you ever gone to a museum and seen a painting that looked like crap in the printout and looked even worse when you saw it up close but it's worth a fortune... that's Noah's work.

I am hopping in my car (in TX) and zooming right out there so I can be the first in line....not!  Although this is an improvement over Noah's last couple of intros (Kermit, Vinylmation 95, etc...) it still is not anything near what we can to expect from him like the 4' tall World of Color, one of my all time favorites. Although a 3" canvass is a lot smaller area than a 4' monster, it still has plenty of creative area in which to create.

Glad I'm not the only one who likes his stuff, but doesn't see what causes it to be so dang expensive. I mean, he uses usually one color, no offense to Noah, but I have seen some amazing artists who aren't paid by Disney and there stuff is way more affordable.

True enough... just wasn't sure... my daughter hasn't been collecting all that long and my husband and I are starting to recognize some of the artist's names as she gets new ones.  Just wasn't sure what set "Noah" aside from the other artists.
